Season 6 Games 9 to 12

Game 9: BUFC 0-0 Billville
Newly promoted Billville are the visitors today and they have worked hard to get where they are  I remember trying to sign their goalkeeper and founder, Bill Curry in the (very) early days when the current league system was barely a glimmer in the eyes of the devs! And Bills team prove they are no push-over here too  in a tightly contested first half that see BUFC take the lead through a Bimbo strike late in the half to go in one up. No doubt lifted by Bills halftime talk the visitors equalise early on and set the home fans muttering as they expected an easy win today. With Billville fighting hard, its the fitter Boston side that eventually secure the three points, as Bimbo heads home the second from Phoenixs cross.2-goal Bimbo picks up the MoM award, but many of the players feel it should have gone to the Billville captain and keeper, Bill Curry for his outstanding display in goal that kept his side in with a shout!

Bimbo applauds Curry's fine display

Game 10: BUFC 3-0 Sadistic Legacy
In a run of home games, its the passionate Legacy boys who are our opponents today and usually these games are closely contested affairs. Both sides have quality players all over the park and its no surprise that much of the action is focussed on the midfield. Its Bostons German international, Matze who gets the best of this and provides a telling pass to allow Phoenix to score the only goal in the first half.Sad Leg come back at us at the start of the second half, but Bostons defence hold fast and Bimbo puts the home side two up on 65 minutes. This seems to take the wind out of the opponents sails and they dont seem able to muster the energy to fight much more. Phonix finally puts them to the sword in the dying minutes to take all 3 points and put BUFC back up to 2nd place in the league. Bimbo celebrates by taking his second MoM award in a row and the home fans are elated to see their team near the top again!

Game 11: BUFC 1-4 Logalers
The agony and the ecstasy in what is our fifth home game in a row, the Boston fans are hoping their side can push on again and take the top spot, but todays visitors, The Logalers have different ideas.Boston are really caught napping as the Logs are out of the blocks first and rapidly take a 3-nil lead. Both the crowd and the players look stunned and things only settle a little when Bimbo gets one back for Boston close to halftime, from a Matze through-ball.AJs team talk helps to puts a bit more steel in defence in the second half, but results in Iama picking up her first yellow card of the season. Tiring and running out of ideas, Boston can do little about the Logs assault. Whilst pushing forward they are caught out again, as the visitors score their fourth and leave with all the spoils today, dropping BUFC to 4th in the table at the same time.

Game 12: BraveHearts 1-1 BUFC
Were off to visit the Braves today and our attempt to challenge their table-topping ways is not helped when Boston bad-boy, Mickey decides to extend his already dubious disciplinary record. This time he receives a straight red for his two-footed lunge on the Braves midfielder, Leigh Connor after only 17 minutes on the pitch.Bostons recent international signing, the German midfielder Matze opens his BUFC account by crafting a solo, wonder goal on 38 minutes. He dribbles from his own half through the Braves defence, to score and send his side in 1-nil up at halftime. Ten-man Boston fought hard in the second half and just as the travelling fans thought we might pull off an unlikely win, Dekybhoy snatched a late equaliser, meaning we only come away with a single, but well-deserved point!

Season 6 Update Games 5 to 8

Game 5: BUFC 0-0 OUFC
OUFC came to the home of the Bulls today and buoyed by their lofty league position, the BUFC fans were expecting their team to put on a performance, since the were top of the table as they went into this game! What a disappointment for all concerned then, when this game turned out to be a nil-nil bore draw. Both sides fought hard and it was the keepers that saw most action, as our usually reliable goal-scorers seemed to have lost their touch today. Meanwhile, Gunny kept a clean sheet at the back and at least helped us to salvage one point from the game, picking up (Wo)man of the Match for her efforts! Even so we drop back down to earth and find ourselves in 4th place when the results are in.

Game 6: Tank 2-1 BUFC
Deflated by the poor showing in our last outing, we travel to a difficult away game against Tank today. Boston line up in a defensive pattern in an effort to control the Tank strikers, who have been known to have a field day against us in previous matches.Hopes are raised when Bimbo snatches an early goal on 7 minutes, but we are quickly pegged back, only to concede a second before halftime. Worried that this could signal the opening of the floodgates, AJs team talk galvanises the team in the second half. Although we eventually fail to get an equaliser, we do hold the Tank at bay and the game ends in a 2-1 defeat, dropping us further down the table to 6th.

Game 7: BUFC 3-2 Fog Squad
We welcome Fog Sq. today and hope that the home advantage can help us back to our winning ways. Our new Czech midfielder, Ulpetr shows the fans some of the skills we have all witnessed on the training pitch, with an impressive solo run early on, that only comes to an end when he is brought down in the area. He gets us off to a flying start by converting the penalty on 9 minutes. Not to be outdone, NumbNutz follows his colleagues example with his own superb, solo effort on 18 minutes and although they pull one back BUFC are happy with their 2-1 lead at halftime. The Squad equalise early in the second half and the three points are only made secure when Bimbo latches on to a through ball from Mickey, to score and Boston win the game 3-2.

NumbNutz celebrates his stunning solo effort to put BUFC 2-0 up

Game 8: BUFC 2-0 Pablo11
Pablo's 11 visit Boston and look like a force to be reckoned with, now they have taken the cream from Crash before it crumbled. But BUFC are flying high this season and take the lead on the half hour mark when Bimbo finds the net. Our one-nil advantage looks threatened with Gunny is booked for a rash challenge inside her area, but she redeems herself by saving the ensuing penalty.
The game is made safe however, when Phoenix is set free to score from Mickey's pass on 68 minutes. His tough tackling helps the midfielder pick up his third yellow card of the season too - but it is Gunny who is awarded MoM for her fine goalkeeping display, to make it the 4th clean sheet of the season already and help propel BUFC back into 3rd place!

Season 6 Update Games 1 to 4

Boston Utd have been busy in the transfer market in preparation for the new season and have managed to find replacements for our two missing midfielders. As you will have seen reported earlier on the blog, Gennaro has returned to Italy, to run the familys pizza chain and Duly has taken early retirement to end his playing career, but is still seen around the club, helping out the ground staff on match days.So we made not two, but three new signings  youve seen the press release and photos in the previous entry. Weve really gone into the international market, with Aliki, our new defender from Greece; Ulpetr, a midfielder from the Czech Republic and Matze, our other new midfielder from Germany. A warm welcome to them all and Im sure they will help Boston Utd push on in the new season ahead of us. Game 1: BUFC 5-0 Allstars
We kicked off the season at home, against our old (S&F) chums the Allstars. The home fans eagerly anticipated seeing how the new side would shape up and a goal from last seasons top goal-scorer Bimbo and one from Phoenix gave us a 2-nil lead at half-time. Last season we managed only 4 clean sheets, but the second half gave our first of the new campaign  along with a further three goals from Phoenix, who was on-fire in front of goal! Mickey managed to pick up a yellow card, but also received the Man of the Match award!
Game 2: BUFC 1-1 WonderBoys
Still on a high from the opening day of the season, BUFC fans were left wondering how we only managed to come away with a draw from todays game against the WonderBoys! In a close game, with both sides battling to control midfield, so unsurprisingly we went in a half-time at nils apiece. The second half saw Bimbo grab one for Boston, but unfortunately we were pegged back meaning we only take a single point from the game. Once again Mickey managed to collect both a yellow and the MoM award!
Game 3: WidowMakers 5-9 BUFC
Our first away game of the season saw us travel to the Widows and it turned out to be a trilling affair! The first half was end-to-end stuff with chances for both sides. It was often route one football with long distance clearances from Gunny picking out the front men  she provided three assists in the game like this and Boston led at half-time 5-2!The second half followed a similar pattern, but it was BUFC who ran out eventual winners by 9 goals to the Widows 5. Man of the Match, Bimbo scored six, with Phoenix getting the other three for Boston.
Game 4: London 0-2 BUFC
Boston havent always had it easy in the capital, but with our new internationals in the side our latest trip to play London seemed less daunting. The first half saw the in-form Phoenix net two to give us a comfortable 2-nil cushion at halftime. The second half saw us begin to tire somewhat and although we had chances, we couldnt extend our lead. Gunny and our defence though managed another clean sheet to help the side to victory. BUFCs stunning start to the season sees us undefeated in four and 10 points from three wins and a draw means that for the first time in the clubs history, we are top of the table in P1!

Meet the new Players

Boston have been busy in the transfer market for the new season with 3 players joining the team.
First up we have Aliki who is a hard hitting defender and she joins us form Wonder Kids
Alki after she passes her  medical
Next up we have two new additions to our midfield Ulpetr and Matze20 who both join us from the now defunct Crash. The addition of these two highly skilled players gives us a lot of competition in our midfield witch can only help the club grow.

A verry happy AJ with new signing Matze
The signing of these players shows the hard work getting put in by the team.

Bimbo's end of season review

It was a difficult season for Boston with a fixture list that saw us piggybacking CrashBiskuit throughout, so many of our opponents held back on them, before exerting themselves against us. Even so BUFC ended in a very respectable top-10 position by finishing in 8th place, with 51 points.Overall we won 15; drew 6; and lost 13; our Goals for = 99 and Goals against = 82; giving us a positive GD of +17. Top scorer for the season was your reporter and yours truly, Bimbo with 51 to his name. Phoenix was close behind, scoring 40 and our midfield duo of Duly (RIP) and Gav got 3 each, while Mickey chipped in with 2.Meanwhile our keeper, Gunny, ably assisted by the BUFC defence, kept 4 clean sheets this season and we had a pretty good disciplinary record too. Iama picked up most cards, with 3 x Yellows; NN  2Y; Bimbo  1Y + 1R; Mickey, AJ, Gav & Undo  1R each; and Gunny & HD  1Y each.
Sadly, this season saw the departure of two loyal Bostonians, as first our Italian midfield maestro, Gennaro and then the long-standing Duly, who had been at the club from the start, went inactive on us. Id personally like to thank them both for their efforts on behalf of the club and Im sure we all appreciate the contribution they made to get Boston into the position we are now!Their departure though saw the arrival of two new midfielders at BUFC in the shape of Undo and his MF partner, Kithy  who also brought her pan with her to add to the teams weapons cabinet! We welcome them to the club and hope they enjoy a long and illustrious career in the strengthening Boston MF!
We started the season badly (again!) with a record that went L; W; L; L; L; W; L, culminating in an 8-1 defeat by Tank away, our worst result. However, we reversed the score-line in our best win of the season, beating WidowMakers 8-1 away. We also beat London 7-1 at home, but for me personally one of the most memorable games was our 2-2 draw away to the Toon. This game saw Gunny get her bat out and concede three penalties, and she then went on to save each one of them!As the season came to a close, we went on a late run; winning seven of our last ten matches, which saw us rise from our long-held 11th spot to our final 8th place. Well-played everyone and looking forward now to an even better performance in the new season before us! Cmon Boston..!!! We are United..!!!

Boston finish on a high

Osmoces 2-5 BUFC
Our final game of the season sees us travel away to play Osmoces and we are little perturbed when we find out its the Clamper who's officiating the match. He's sent a few Boston players off this season and we hope history not going to repeat itself! The Osmos are quick out of the blocks and snatch an early lead when Viriato scores just 7 minutes in. Things go pear-shaped for them however when in the 17th minute the Clampers red card is out, to send off the Osmo defender Valdir for a deliberate hand-ball. For once its not a BUFC player whos getting an early bath and better still Bimbo's well-placed free kick finds Phoenix to head in the equaliser on 21 minutes! Osmo's midfielder, Miauzinho gets booked by the Clamper at 25 mins and from the free kick Phoenix puts Boston into the lead with a well-taken goal. The second half sees the two Boston front men link up well when Bimbo provides the cross for Phoenix to get his hat-trick on 52 minutes.HD spoils his clean disciplinary record for the season by going into the Clampers notebook for his late challenge on 55 minutes. Then Phoenix returns the favour in the 65th minute and crosses one for Bimbo to head BUFC into a comfortable 4-1 lead. Cruising now Bimbo chips another cross to beat the Osmo defence and the on-form Phoenix heads in Bostons fifth in the 72nd minute.10-man Osmos are well-beaten, Viriato scores a consolation goal for them on 84 minutes  but can't stop Boston ending the season with a convincing 5-2 victory! The season's top scorer Bimbo is awarded man of the match, but it was an impressive four goals from Phoenix that put a smile on the fan's faces as the season draws to a close!

Wings just have enough to see of Boston

BUFC 3-4 LoTW
Its the penultimate game of the current season and it sees LoTWs visit us for our last home game today. Emotions are running high, with Boston winning the previous three home games and we are determined not to just roll over and hand the points over to the visitors.BUFC start well and show they can match the former champions in the first twenty minutes. Then the Wings top striker, Simmo finally breaks through the Boston defence to open the scoring on 22 minutes. Almost straight away Bimbo draws the two sides level in the 27th minute, only to see Valanthril put the visitors back in front close to half time on 42 minutes.
Boston show their resolve and manage to get the equaliser in the second minute of injury time when Phoenix heads home Bimbos cross, meaning we go in all square at 2-2.The second half follows a similar pattern when Simmo bags his second goal on 52 minutes, then Bimbo once again provides the cross for Phoenix to head home to level it at 3-3. The home fans are hoping we can grab a point here, but are disappointed when Valanthril puts the Wings in the lead again on 73 minutes.Unfortunately, with both sides tiring Boston cant find the energy to pull it back and eventually go down 4-3. A valiant effort that gave the Wings something to think about and the fans are happy that we give it our best efforts! Simmo gets man of the match and as the no. 1 rank striker, he gave the Boston defence headaches all afternoon.

Boston cruse past Emmy

BUFC 3-0 Emmy
Its our third home game on the trot and today we welcome Emmy for todays match. Pretty much from the outset we have the visitors on the back foot and challenge their defence, forcing the keeper to make a couple of saves. Eventually continued Boston pressure pays off, when Gav plays in Bimbo to open the scoring on 26 minutes. The Emmy side can barely get the ball out of their own half and its Bimbo who manages to steal the ball off Arcs, the Emmy defender and passes to Phoenix to double our lead on 37 minutes.
Emmy come out in the second half determined to put up more of a fight, but still cant really trouble the Boston defence. The game is finally put to bed when NumbNutz places a precision cross on Phoenixs head to score in the 89th minute and BUFC earn themselves another home win! Todays match sponsors, Mr Kiplings Cakes, name Mickey man of the match for his telling midfield interceptions and passing play. The Boston fans are well pleased with their teams performance as we move up one to 8th place in the league!

Who needs God as Widow falls

BUFC 3-2 WidowMakers
After the elation of the last game Boston look a bit tired  obviously been out too late celebrating their victory against the Toon! This is perhaps confirmed when Widowmaker himself opens the scoring on 17 minutes to give the visitors the lead.Boston push forward looking for the equaliser and Bimbo is fouled just outside the box to break up a good move. However from the free kick, Bimbo threads the ball through the Widowmakers wall to find Phoenix who taps it home inside the 6-yard box to make it 1-1 on 36 minutes.
We all know that the Widows have God on their side, but this doesnt intimidate our captain AJ, who receives a Yellow card and ten Hail Marys for stopping her pitch-long dribble with a fierce sliding tackle on 56 minutes! God obviously forgives him by wasting the free kick and BUFC work the ball upfield. NumbNutz finishes the move by chipping a neat cross for Bimbo to head home on 67 minutes. 2-1 to Boston..!Widowmaker scores his second to equalise on 74 minutes and then God goes on another one of her runs from the Widows defence. This time Undo steals the ball from God in midfield and passes straight to Phoenix. He controls and calmly picks out Bimbo in the box, who scores on 85 minutes!Hailfire from the Widows is given man of the match, but we dont care as we walk away with all three points and a moral-boosting win!

Boston Terrorises Toons

BUFC 5-1 Toon
Its time to welcome our old friends, the Toon to the home of the Bulls today and after two disappointing defeats the home fans are really looking for a performance from Boston!!! The team look fired up for it, but make a tense and rather nervy start to the match. Thinks get worse when Matty Phipps scores for the Toon on 22 minutes! Fortunately Boston nerves are settled ten minutes later when Bimbo scores the equaliser! Then approaching half-time NumbNutz plays a lovely through ball to Bimbo, who in turn plays in Phoenix to make it 2-1 to BUFC on 41 minutes.
Refreshed by the interval, Boston come out fighting in the second half and Undo provides the perfect assist to let Bimbo make it 3-1 in the 69th minute. Phoenix then takes advantage of the Blind refs poor vision to make a crunching tackle and win the ball on the edge of the box. He chips it up to Bimbo to head home his hat-trick on 79 minutes. The home fans day is made when Man of the Match, Bimbo scores his fourth in the 90th minute to make the final score 5-1..!!! Not a bad comeback, since they scored first and a great way to return to winning ways! Cmon Boston!!!

Allstars win S&F derby then Wonder kicks Boston when they are down.

Allstars 1-0 BUFC and WonderBoys 4-1 BUFC
Our recent winning streak comes to a disappointing end in a close, but scrappy game against the Allstars. Both sides are quite evenly matched and both goalkeepers see plenty of action. Just as it looks like no one is going to score today, our once over, temporary visitor, Jssa2001 manages to break the deadlock with a header as the game is drawing to a close on 87 minutes.
Slightly deflated BUFC travel to another away game at the WonderBoys stadium, where we suffer another defeat. Terry Lee opens the scoring just 6 mins in, before Mickey plays in Bimbo to score the equaliser in the 15th minute.Striker11 gets the first of his two goals with a header on 28 mins, before scoring his second on 40 minutes. Pushing to get his hat-trick in the second half, he then hacks down AJ in a desperate attempt to get the ball  and is immediately sent off. Sadly Boston cant capitalise on the man advantage and following her recent red card, Iama receives a yellow on 74 minutes. Our fate is sealed in the closing minutes when man of the match, Darren00 scores a neat solo effort to give his team the victory. Back home for the Toons visit next!

An offer that he could not refuse???

After our reporters banning from Italy our head grounds man got a letter making him an offer that he could not refuse. So after he had booked his flight on EJ666 he then went and told Gunny off for writing her name in the posts using her nails. After a quick exit he sped off to the airport to get his flight. On arrival he went to the address he was given and seen this sign above the door.
Undeterred he walked striate in the door to be meat by an old man in a expensive suite.  Who pointed him towards the back where he was able to get this pic.
He then found out that Gennaro before he left had received a letter from his Godfather about the Pizza shop and how that after its owner had died that the place belonged to him and he is now making more money than he ever could as a footballer. He was then handed the keys to the dressing room and told that the club would receive a weekly airdrop of Pizza. So the grounds man then had to come back to the club and face up to Gunny again. But that’s another story.

Any one for toast?

BMB 1-2 BUFC
With the smell of toast in our nostrils, NumbNutz kicks us off against BmB today. A mere 9 minutes into the game his crunching tackle on the poor Burnt Bread defender, D Ward earns him a straight red card and hes off to the dressing room before the toaster has even cooled down!!! Things get worse still when Manudude opens the scoring on 14 minutes! But fortunately for 10 man Boston, Gunnys long clearance goes straight to Phoenix who levels the scores almost immediately on 19 mins. wo surprisingly equal teams battle out the remainder of the half, but create few clear chances. The second half follows a similar pattern, until in the best move of the game, AJ calmly plays the ball out of defence to Undo in midfield. He controls the ball and threads his pass to Bimbo, who takes the ball to the line, before crossing to the back post for Phoenix to head home on 70 minutes.  Boston seem in control until just two mins later, Iama smashes into Bzyll, the home teams striker and she too is off to make use of the dressing room toaster! An edgy last 15 minutes sees Gunny pull off two good saves to maintain our slender one-goal advantage and win us the three points today. It seems to have put a smile back on her face again and she probably deserved the (wo-)man of the match award, but the sponsors give that to Mickey for his tackling in midfield. When we get back to the dressing room NumbNutz and Iama have made toast for everyone mmmm pass the marmalade!!!

Boston see off the Londoners

BUFC 7-1 London UFC
Boston welcome the boys from the capital today as London come visiting. We managed a win last time out, despite two sendings off  hopefully our home advantage will help make things easier for us this time out?Things start well, when Undo finds Phoenix from his free kick, who in turn plays a quick pass to Bimbo to open the scoring with just 8 minutes gone. Londons James Hung equalises ten minutes later, but from then on its really all one-way traffic!!! Bimbo makes it 2-1 on 20 minutes, before Gav makes one of his best moves, dribbling from the halfway line and scores on 27 minutes. BUFC cruise into a comfortable lead when Phoenix heads home Bimbos cross on 36 mins and we go in 4-1 up.
The on-form Gav goes on another one of his runs, this time from deep in his own half and looks like repeating his first half goal, but instead unselfishly chips the ball up for Bimbo to finish off with 59 minutes on the clock. Bimbo gets his fourth goal on 64 mins and BUFC round off a London rout on 81 minutes, when Mickey lofts a long lob for Phoenix to head home. A great team performance all round, but four-goal Bimbo is awarded Man of the Match.

Bimbo the shinning light as Boston see off the Fog

Fog Squad 0-1 BUFC
Seeing as todays game is officiated by the Blind ref, most of the players get tooled up in the dressing room before kick off. Sure enough it turns out to be a dirty affair, with Kithy getting lots of use out of her favourite pan!Phoenix makes a crunching tackle on 28 minutes to gain the ball and then shows great composure to pick out Bimbo inside the box, to open the scoring for Boston.
The second half is much like the first, and some terrible tackles break down BUFCs normally attractive football. All of these go unseen by the Blind bat with the whistle, as much of the game is played out in a midfield battleground.  Gunny keeps us in the game, making some fine saves and the defence help her keep a clean sheet  were going to need that sheet to make bandages in the dressing room at full time!!! When the whistle finally goes its three points to Boston, holding on to their narrow 1-nil lead. The battling Undo is named as Man of the Match, having helped his side control midfield.

Boston see off Pablo11

Pablo11 1-4 BUFC
Boston United travel away to our old friends, Pablo11 today and hope to continue our winning streak, having beaten OUFC 5-nil in our last away game. Things start well when Bimbo finds Phoenix clear in the box, to open the scoring on 13 minutes.Following this early break-through the game is quite evenly matched until a controversial moment deep into injury time in the first half. NumbNutz plays a telling pass to Bimbo, who is brought down by Nippy the Pablo11 defender. It looked outside the box, but the Strict ref awards a penalty to Boston anyway! Before the irate Pablo11 players can protest Bimbo steps up and takes one touch, before blasting the ball past Xtreme Enigma, their goalkeeper, into the net! The home side protest that this is an illegal penalty kick, but Stricter has already awarded the goal and blown up for a Boston 2-0 lead at half-time.
Gunnys been having a good game in goal and has frustrated the Pablo11 strikers all day, saving three shots from Ziolek87, but he finally beats her with a shot on 70 minutes. Ten minutes later Bimbo passes to Phoenix to score a simple goal and restore a comfortable two-goal lead. In the closing minutes BUFC ensure the win with a neat passing move, started by Iama, who finds Undo in midfield. He picks out a neat pass to set Phoenix free and scores on 92 minutes and Boston take all three points!!! To top it all off, Bimbo is named man of the match and the team head off happy, singing on the coach all the way home!

Lesser spotted Gennaro found

Our intrepid reporter has just handed us in his expense form from his Italian holiday. Seems that he has found the lesser spotted Gennaro. He was first spotted boarding EasyJet flight 666 to Naples and was able to get this pic before the flight landed.

Our reporter then tried to get a word with him once the plane landed but was taken for some special treatment by Italian customs who did not like his Lorne Sausage he had with him. He then headed to the nearest beach where he got this snap.
Gennaro with BUFC tattoo
We don’t know why he had his camera with long lens with him on the beach but he was swiftly arrested by the local police and then put on the first flight back the UK and told never to return to Italy.  Our reporter was not able to get the keys off Gennaro before he was arrested. But the grounds man unhappy that his shed was getting used as the away dressing room has removed the door by pulling it off its hinges with his lawnmower.

Meet the new girl

Today we meet up with our newest signing Kithy. But it did not last long as she decided to run off after Undo with her trusty frying pan because he was not trying hard enough in training. We will try and redo this another time after we have looked Undo away for his safe keeping.

Kithy with her lucky charm

Mystery of mising players?

As u all may have noticed Boston’s star midfield DN has failed to turn up for training for the last week. But our star match day photographer has got this snap of him.
New program seller looks familiar

When questioned the program seller answered £2.50 per program and then started to ramble in a strange unknown language then closed up for match.
Also Boston’s Italian midfielder Gennaro has not been seen anywhere all the players and staff are extremely worried that he has run away back to Italy. As he has got the only set of keys to the away dressing room and the away players are getting upset at using the grounds man’s shed to get changed in.
If u have any more details about DN’s and  Gennaro’s disappearance please contact AJ cake will be provided to anyone who helps bring them back to the club.

Crash not fully dunked as they hold out for a draw.

BUFC 4-4 Crash
Boston are up against the Biskuit Boys today and have been warned to be on their best behaviour as its our favourite ref, the Clamper officiating the match! Hes sent off four BUFC players recently!Maybe we should have been tackling harder, cos almost straight away Hubbsy, the Crash striker, skips past the Boston defence to score the opener on just 9 minutes. Phoenix lays up a telling cross for Bimbo to head in the equaliser on 14 mins, before Hubbsy get his second at 23 mins.Shaken, Boston play some smart passing moves and as the half draws to a close HD plays a long pass out of defence to Undo. He controls the ball and plays Bimbo in to score just as the Clamper blows up for half time and we go in all square at 2-2.
The second half sees us retake the lead as Bimbo gets his hat-trick on 50 minutes, only to see Hubbsy do the same six minutes later, levelling the sides on 3-3. In the best passing move of the game HD once again plays the ball out of defence. This time its Kithy, Bostons recent new midfield acquisition, who finds Bimbo and unselfishly he picks out Phoenix in the box, to score on 78 minutes.Sadly again Boston cant hold on to the lead as Pab gets the equaliser with a header on 83 minutes and the game ends in a draw 4 a piece despite us leading 2-1; 3-2 and 4-3. To top it all off Hubbsy is given Man of the Match by the sponsors and BUFC feel its two points dropped rather than one gained!

The curse of the cakes

Sad Leg 3-2 BUFC
Boston manage to hold on to 11th place but really should have had at least a point from todays game against Sadistic Legacy. We started well enough, with Phoenix netting a neat header from Bimbos cross on 7 minutes. Bimbo doubled the lead when he skinned two Legacy defenders to score a  solo effort with his right boot on 35 mins.Stitch pulled one back immediately from the restart on 38 mins and sadly both Bimbo and Phoenix missed golden opportunities to put us further in front before half time. But at least we go in 2-1 up for refreshments and some lovely cakes made by Gunny!
Unfortunately this might have been our undoing since BUFC look a bit sluggish in the second half, as S-One-Don snatches the equaliser on 53 minutes. The Legacy goal keeper, RyanBJK keeps his side in the game  once again making saves from both Boston strikers. Worse still, Stitch manages to stitch Boston up when he grabs a lucky winner on 80 minutes, to the disappoint of the crowd and players alike.Phoenix is named Man of the Match despite losing and we had six chances to their four  just a pity they had a better conversion rate than us today!

Osmoces put to the sword by the Bulls

BUFC 8-3 Osmoces
Osmoces visit the home of the Bulls today. BUFC look up for it and sure enough dont disappoint the capacity home crowd! In a neat passing move started deep in defence, Iama first finds Undo, who in turn picks out Bimbo. One touch and he plays it to Phoenix unmarked inside the box, to side foot home the first goal on 11 minutes. The fans groan however, when Viriato latches on to a sloppy clearance from AJ, the Boston captain and he scores the equaliser foe Emmy. Frustrated at not making the save, Gunny boots the ball straight to Bimbo who instantly restores the lead on 26 minutes. Bostons third comes from Bimbos header on 38 mins nodding home a well-placed cross from Phoenix. Bimbo gets his hat-trick to bring the half to a close on 45 minutes and Boston enjoy their half-time oranges 4-1 up!
Almost identical to their early linking play, Bimbo nets another header from a nicely weighted Phoenix cross on 51 minutes. Only to see Osmos striker, Viriato get one back on 58 minutes. Gunny once again finds Bimbo with her long clearance and this time the roles are reversed, as ne lobs the ball for Phoenix to head home 65 minutes into the game.Always a crowd-pleaser, Mickey sets off on one of his trademark mazy runs from midfield, carries the ball half the length of the field and finishes his solo effort with style on 78 minutes. The Osmos Italian pairing Viriato and Eugenio combine to score the visitors third on 88 minutes, but to round off the BUFC party celebrations, Man of the Match, Bimbo scores Bostons eighth, with the last kick of the game, in the second minute of stoppage time. The home fans are jubilant and BUFC now have 23 points and lie in 11th place in the league.

Boston lose out to league leaders

LoTW 4-2 BUFC
Its a tough task today as BUFC travel to the Lords ground to play the Wings. Undaunted, the loyal travelling fans are hoping for an upset, after their teams last two impressive wins.Sadly things do go entirely to plan and Valanthril puts the Wings into the lead on 10 minutes. However the Boston team arent fazed by this and continue to play some neat football to hold the top of the table team at bay. In their best move of the game, Iama makes a beautiful pass out of defence to find Phoenix running forward. He in turn makes a clean pass to Bimbo who slots the ball home to draw the teams level. Things might have been different if we could have held on til half-time, but Valanthril puts the Wings back into the lead on 43 minutes. It all starts to go pear-shaped when the Wings no. 1 ranked striker, Simmo scores their third just 5 minutes into the second half.Boston pull another one back 5 minutes later when Bimbo plays a neat lob for Phoenix to powerfully head home and make the score 3-2. Sadly though Simmo puts the game beyond our reach when he grabs his second with a powerful, long distance shot on 60 minutes and earns himself the Man of the Match award from the sponsors.Gunny once again plays well, pulling off a string of saves and both Iama and AJ make some well-timed tackles too over the last half hour, to stop the Wings getting any more goals. Its the Osmos next, lets hope Boston still have something left in the tank for them?

Emmy pushed aside as Boston continue run

Emmy Utd 1-4 BUFC
Straight off the back of an 8-1 victory in our last match, upbeat Boston visit Emmy today hoping for another win. The players are all looking a bit tired after their exertions in the last game, but still start the game in a positive fashion.Almost straight away Gav notices the Blind ref officiating is looking the other way, as he crunches into the opposition in midfield to win the ball. He passes straight to Bimbo, who strolls past two Emmy defenders with ease looking like he must score. However AskeySant their goalkeeper, has other ideas and chops Bimbo down in the box, receiving a Yellow from Blind Benny for his troubles. 7 minutes in, Bimbo calmly slots the ball home to make it 1-nil from the spot. On 21 mins PB doubles Bostons lead when he latches on to a neat through ball from Mickey. Soon after in a trademark BUFC passing move, Iama finds NumbNutz in midfield, who in turn sets Phoenix away, beating the offside trap and scoring a quality goal, from distance on the half-hour mark.Boston lead 3-nil at half-time.
It gets even better early in the second half, 5 minutes after kick-off, when Duly plays a lovely pass to Bimbo who scores a spectacular 30 yard goal on 50 minutes. Emmy begin to fight back and it seems both Gunny and Iama have forgotten the ball and seem to prefer just taking the opposition player out instead! The refinsists he didnt see anything and waves play-on.Sadly though, this defensive tactic cant stop HotSpur getting one back for home side on 64 minutes. The remainder of the game is played out in midfield with both sides tiring fast. BUFC take another 3 points today, despite HotSpur being named Man of the Match. LoTW next hopefully the Boston players can rest up before this difficult game coming up!

Who needs 11 men

WidowMakers 1-8 BUFC
We travel away today to the home of the Widowmakers and Boston are currently on a six-game undefeated run! What has been frustrating the fans though is that five of the last six games have been drawn and theyre really hoping for three points today to improve our league position and theyre in for a real treatStraight from Undos kick-off, Gav takes the ball forward before finding Phoenix unmarked and before most of the away fans have taken their seats its 1-0 after 5 minutes. Duly collects the keepers clearance and neatly threads a pass to Bimbo, who in turn slips the ball to Phoenix to score his second with only 13 mins gone. Drewbe, the Widowmakers goalie is the only home team player to touch the ball so far  and thats been to pick it out of the back of the net, twice!!!Things continue in a similar vein, with Duly chipping a telling cross for Bimbo to head home on 23 mins and then NumbNutz assists Phoenix for his hat-trick on 30 minutes. BUFC are going like a Bull at a gate and there seems to be no stopping them today! hat this until Bimbo gets a bit carried away with all the excitement and is a little over-enthusiastic in his tackle on Loops, the Widows defender. Of course Bimbo should have known that with the Clamper in charge it would earn him a straight red card on 38 minutes. Apologising to his team mates Bimbo heads for an early bath, but it doesnt seem to stop BUFC and in the closing seconds of the first half, Phoenix finds Duly charging forward to latch on to his square pass and he lashes the ball into the net to made it 5-nil to Boston at half-time!
The fans get back to their seats early with their pies for the second half wanting to catch all of the action, only to see AJ lay into Widowmaker 3 minutes in. Needless to say the Clamper gets his favourite red card straight out again and BUFC are down to nine men! Unhappy at the dismissal of her captain, Gunny then smacks into Widowmaker as he takes the free kick and promptly picks up a yellow from the Clamper and the Widows get a penalty. But Gunny has been on stunning form recently saving penalties and sure enough safely collects this one too! Sadly though she cant stop Widowmakers shot on 55 minutes and the home team manage to pull one back. Will nine man Boston fall apart now? No chance! as Gav nets one to make it 6-1 on the hour mark and Phoenix lobs the ball up for Duly to head home his second of the match on 69 mins.Undo wants some of the action too and is approaching the edge of the box when he is fouled by God - thats the Widows defender, not the big fella upstairs! He curls his free kick to the back post for Phoenix to head in easily and make it a stunning 8-1 victory for 9-man Boston!Four-goal Phoenix, who also provided three assists today, rightly picks up the Man of the Match award and BUFCs goal difference has been greatly improved by todays result!

Gunny Terrorises Toons

Toon 2-2 BUFC
We travel to Bimbos old home town, when we cross the Tyne and visit the Toon for todays match against the Terrors. He immediately lets the locals know hes excited to be back in toon by promptly getting booked on 6 minutes! Worse still as the Toon work the ball upfield from the free kick and Steve Bradley terrorises Gunny by scoring the opening goal in the 13th minute.Things look like they might get worse still when Gunny take out the ex-BUFC player JW and concedes a penalty, picking up a caution from the ref at the same time. JW tries to fool the Boston keeper with a crafty penalty but Gunny saves it easily! Yay!!! JW is in for more treatment five minutes later when Iama shows him shes no push over either and takes his legs from under him. Once again Gunny stares out JW, who fluffs his second penalty of the match!!!Fired up today, Iama decides its time to give the other Toon striker, S Bradley some of the same and unfortunately this time she also goes into the referees notebook! On cracking form, its also Gunnys third penalty save of the day as she collects the ball from the Bradley spot-kick!!! This must go into the clubs record books  three penalty saves and its not even half-time yet!!!
Gunny finishes the half with yet another outstanding save from Bradley on 40 mins and finds Bimbo from her route one clearance. He makes a neat assist to find Phoenix inside the box, who puts the ball in the net to take us in level at 1-1.JWs  day gets worse early in the second half, when team captain AJ sticks the boot in too  but no free kick is awarded this time! Steve Bradley however puts the Toon ahead on 73 mins to groans from the travelling Boston supporters. However the Bulls are not behind for long and on 79 mins Bimbo finds himself in the clear to net the equaliser! The final action of the game sees Gunny pull off yet another magnificent save with Bradley looking for the Toons winner. S Bradley end up being awarded the MoM award for his two goals, but back in the dressing room afterwards we cant help wondering how it didnt go to Gunny who was undoubtedly the best player for us on the pitch today!!!

We Wonder what 3pts look like

BUFC 2-2 WonderBoys FC
Its our third home game in a row today, this time against the WonderBoys and everyone is wondering if we can return to winning ways following the sleepy bore-draw last time out?Well the game starts in a scrappy fashion, before eventually on the half-hour mark Gav plays a decisive through ball to pick out Bimbo on the edge of the box. He takes a touch and smacks the ball cleanly past Pat Jennings in the WonBoys goal. BUFC go in at half-time leading 1-nil.Sadly we cant build on this in the second half and seem unusually lacking in ideas or any real quality to break the opposition down. Worse is to come on 53 minutes when Parkins finds the WonBoys striker, Terry Lee in space and he flukes an equaliser, as Gunny is distracted by his immaculate 70s haircut!
Boston are left to rue their luck and must feel the draw means its another two points dropped at home! The match sponsors dont raise the spirit any by giving J Parkins of the WonBoys the MoM award  leaving Gavin wondering why his midfield display was overlooked? Thats four draws in our last five games now  BUFC are becoming the draw specialists! :P

S&F derby fails to deliver

BUFC 0-0 Allstars XI
Following the last home game with BmB, Boston are at home again today against the recently promoted Allstars. The game saw the much-anticipated return of the wandering Hippy to the home of the Bulls and several players wanted to see him on the losing side, so they could take the mick in the S&F bar after the game!Unfortunately the game turned into a bit of a kicking match and the Laxman in control did little to stop the blatant fouls that broke up the attractive football Boston normally play! Several players, who had clearly eaten too much toast in the last game, were finding it difficult to string any passes together.Despite pinning the Allstars back in their own half for almost the entire game, Boston couldnt carve out any clear-cut chances and the ref put everyone out of their misery by blowing time on this 0-0 bore-draw!The Allstars defender, Ferginia was awarded Man of the Match for his solid display in the face of the BUFC strike force. At full time AJ had to wake Gunny in the Boston goal to let her know the game was over. Wonder if well see more goals next against the WonderBoys?

Boston toast BmB

BUFC 4-1 Burn My Bread
The Boston fans turned up at the ground today with their Mothers Pride and hoped that the Bulls could make toast of the visiting opposition today and we didnt disappoint! As early as the 8th minutes Duly picked out Phoenix with a nicely weighted pass, who calmly took the ball into the box to open the scoring with a neat finish.  Then on 25 mins Bimbo dispossessed Ishmu, the BmB defender who dwelled on the ball too long, stepped past him and second BUFCs second. Another simple goal, but Bimbo almost misplaced his shot laughing at the BmB goalie, Yeovilred who must be the funniest looking GK in the First League! Annoyed at the hoots of derision from the crowd, she then lumps the ball upfield to let their striker, King953 pull one back on 29 minutes.
Bostons comfortable 2-1 lead got better straight from the kick off for the second half, when Undo tapped the ball off to Mickey, who dribbles through their defence and smacks the ball into the net on 52 minutes. The win is finally sealed when Bimbo again dispossesses Ward this time and scores his second and BUFCs fourth on 70 minutes.Mickey is awarded Man of the Match for his midfield display and superb solo effort at the start of the 2nd half. A suitable comeback after disgracing himself in the capital in the last game and hes now the toast of the crowd!

Two in the tower as Boston draw in London

London UFC 4-4 BUFCBoston were on their travels again today and went to see the sights with a coach tour of London before our game. Little did we realise two of our players would be in the dungeons of the Tower before we left..!!!London controlled the early part of the game and their striker, Strider put them ahead on 12 minutes. However BUFC were not phased at all and quickly struck back when Bimbo grabbed the equaliser in the 17th minute. This was quickly followed by probably the best move of the game on 25 mins, when Gav played in Phoenix with a nice, diagonal pass, who immediately squared it to Bimbo to side foot home and give us a 2-1 lead.We werent finished there and Bimbo returned the favour by passing to Phoenix on the edge of the six-yard box to score easily on 36 minutes. Things were going really well, until as half-time approach Mickey remembered he still had revision to do for his exam tomorrow and right in front of the Clamper, hacks down a London midfielder! Instant red card and Mickey rushes to the dressing room to get his head into his books!!! en man Boston battle through most of the second half until Biceps, the old, grey haired London midfielder showed his skills by running almost the length of the field to make it 3-2 on 61 minutes. Then more midfield madness occurs on 73 minutes, when our recent signing Undo announces his presence with a crunching tackle on Alibek, the London defender. Once again you can rely on Clamper and sure enough BUFC go down to nine men! Obviously something was said between the players and straight from the free-kick NumbNutz chopped the cocky London player down again! The Boston manager had his head in his hands as the teams discipline was falling apart, but fortunately this time NN just picked up a yellow from the Clamper.Nine man Boston were suddenly on the back foot and with ten minutes to go London took the lead with two quick goals from J Hung making 4-3 to London. The travelling fans couldnt believe it, just like our last game it looked like we could lose a game that we had previously been winning comfortably. BUFC however secured a point when in the dying moments, Bimbo grabbed a late equaliser to make it a battling 4-4 draw, away with only nine men on the field.
Phoenix got the man of the match award for his silky passing and positional play. We managed to bail Mickey and Undo out of the Tower before we left and both sat red-faced on the back seat all the way home. At least we hope the extra revision time helped Mickey in his exam!!!

Boston strike late to draw in the fog

BUFC 3-3 Fog Squad
The weather looked a bit gloomy today and fans wondered if it was the hang-over from our recent heavy defeat by Tank FC, when they realised the overcast conditions were due to the Fog Squad being in town today! The game was a bit scrappy initially with both side playing some sloppy passes in midfield, but on 17 mins Gav threads a long pass through to Bimbo to open the scoring with an easy finish. The Squad fight back and once again our keeper, Gunny makes a couple of good saves, but cant stop PureMadMental scoring on 31 minutes, meaning we go in at half-time all square.Boston started the second half well and once again on 53 mins Gav finds Bimbo with a long, high ball and he spots the Foggy keeper rushing out. Its an easy job to nod the ball over her head into an empty net! Frustrated she goes long with her clearance and is fortunate to find PMM in the open and catches the Boston defence napping to score the equaliser.
In an open game now BUFC squander a couple of good chances before D Forey of the Fog Squad gives them the lead on 84 minutes. The fans are dumbstruck and cant believe their team are facing another defeat, but fortunately on 90 mins Phoenix breaks free and finds Bimbo with a lovely chip to head home and at least give Boston a point. This is some consolation having had the lead twice. To further add insult to injury, the match sponsors name PureMadMental man of the match. Were off to the capital next to play London Cmon Boston!!! We are United..!!!

Tank power past Bostons defences

Tank 8-1 BUFC
Whats that rumbling noise..? and look coming over the hill its a Tank..!!! Today was Bostons very own Tiananmen Square and we took a bit of a pasting! The Tank striker Estavios personally took a dislike to the BUFC defence, quickly racking up three goals in the 5th, 13th and 31st minutes and there seemed little our defence could do to stop him. Amun and AVFCHump also netted one each, before Estavios got his fourth on the stroke of half-time. Already it was 6-nil and the way things were going it looked like we were lucky to have nil!
ortunately the h-t break gave the Boston physio time to work on Gunnys back and suitably refreshed she pulled off a string of saves to keep the Tank scoring machine at bay. Then one ray of sunshine on this dark day for Boston Duly threaded a beautifully weighed pass to Bimbo to head one back on 51 mins. This wasnt the Boston come-back we hoped for and our fate was sealed with two further Tank goals by the prolific Estavois on 58 mins and Amun on 82 mins. Our heaviest defeat for some time and we trudged back to the dressing rooms as Chumbawamba picked up the Man of the Match award  surprised they didnt give it to their five-goal hero Estavois? Never mind we were on the coach back to Boston and didnt want to see another tracked vehicle for a while..!!!

BU's turn it around agenst Pablo11

BUFC 4-2 Pablo11
It was a Boston tea party today as our friends Pablo11 came rolling into town and things got off to an early start with Bimbo giving BUFc the early lead on 6 minutes. This raised the fans hopes of a good game, but it got even better when Duly picked the ball up in his own half and dribbled through the Pab midfield before smashing a 30 yard screamer into the top corner of the Pablo11 net! He might not score many, but this was a real beauty and sent the fans wild with delight!Pab pulled one back on 21 minutes, before Gunny decided to make a name for herself too by rushing out and clobbering Ziolek87, the Pab striker. Despite the fact it was Jeremy Laxman refereeing the match he could let this go and showed Gunny a Yellow card for her misdemeanours.  Fortunately she redeemed herself by saving the poorly taken penalty and went on to pull off another stunning save from Pabs Borys on the stroke of half-time meaning we went in at the break 2-1 up.
In the second half AJ carried the ball out of defence and was brought down as he approached the 18 yard box. This time the ref was looking the other way, but fortunately Bimbo secures the loose ball and slots home his second to make it more comfortable for BUFC at 3-1. That was until Ziolek87 made up for his penalty miss earlier and scores one on 79 minutes. But Boston were in the driving seat now and never looked like losing the game, which was made sure when Phoenix easily heads home from a Bimbo cross to seal our 4-2 victory! Dont ya just luv it..?Cmon Boston!!!

10 goals shared as Bsoton slump to defeat

BUFC 4-6 OUFC
Boston welcomed OUFC to the home of the Bulls today and the fans were hoping to see a home win unfortunately it didnt work out that way for them in a high-scoring game.OUFC opened the scoring on 17 minutes when Ryan619 floated a ball past Gunny. In an end-to-end game Boston struck straight back with Bimbo neatly firing home his first goal on 21 mins  only to see Potty give OUFC the lead back on 26 minutes. BUFC worked the ball back up the pitch with some neat passing before Phoenix chipped a lovely cross over to Bimbo to calmly net his second on 32 minutes.Frustratingly Potty must have been watching his technique and on 38 mins headed OUFC back into a 3-2 lead. It had been a dirty game, as might be expected when it was officiated by Benny the Blind Ref  but the players were thinking half-time would never arrive because the Bat in Black couldnt see the time on his watch. In the 7th added minute Iama popped up from the back on the overlap to close in on goal the crowd held its breath, but unfortunately her tired legs couldnt muster the power to beat the OUFC keeper with her shot.
The second half followed a similar pattern with ridiculous challenges getting away unnoticed by the ref, who had admitted at half-time that his watch had actually stopped! Potty netted his hat-trick on 56 mins before Bimbo provided the pass for Phoenix to side-foot home 5 minutes later. Potty wasnt finished yet and in a vicious and quite blatant, yet unpunished foul, he managed to dispossess AJ in the Boston defence and strode in the box to get his fourth and make the score 5-3 to OUFC.Trying to make up for her miss in the first half, Iama once again dashed up the wing on the overlap and shot from an acute angle. Unfortunately the keeper saw it coming and gathered the ball, lobbing it out quickly, only to see Bimbo latch on to it and provide the chip for Phoenix to head home past the stranded and red-faced keeper. The tired Boston players were deflated however when man of the match, Potty sealed the OUFC 6-4 victory with his fifth goal of the game on 88 minutes. Its Pablo11 next cmon Boston!!!

Boston See Red as Notts Win

Notts Reds 3-1 BUFC
Boston have been on the road again for our third away game on the trot  this time at the improving Nottingham Reds. Feeling a little travel-sick the team didnt look their best today and as soon as the game kicked off, it looked like Notts Reds had the early upper hand.On 12 mins Vampola ran through the BUFC defence and neatly finished off an impressive solo effort. Trying to emulate the Reds midfielder, Mickey picked up the ball on 30 minutes and proved he was no slouch either, dribbling past three defenders, but sadly couldnt beat The Kat in the Reds goalmouth.Battling over the ball in midfield Duly was brought down inside the centre circle. From the ensuing free kick, he found Bimbo near the edge of the box. With the whistle poised in the refs mouth, he spotted Phoenix in the open and squared the ball to him to bag an easy finish past the stranded Reds keeper in the third minute of stoppage time, at the end of the first half.
The second half saw the midfield battle continue, with Notts winning the first round and the ball squirts forward to Madmurdock on 60 minutes, who manages to slip the ball past the charging Gunny to make it 2-1 to them. Presumably annoyed at that, suddenly Gav get a rush of blood to the head and lunges into Sterkel, the Notts midfielder right in front of Clamper the Ref. Its no surprise when he reaches for his pocket and shows Gav a straight Red! Despite his protests of innocence, Gav has to be ushered off the pitch by AJ, the BUFC captain.10 man Boston battle on valiantly, with Iama and Gunny holding out at the back. Then HD makes a tackle and is dribbling the ball towards the halfway line when Leon Heath, the Reds midfielder then lays into him  this time the Clamper is more lenient and only shows him a Yellow. Trying to take a quick free kick HD only manages to lob the ball back to Leon Heath, fortunate to still be on the pitch and he manages to find Rudieradford who scores their 3rd on 81 minutes.Once again BUFC have been beaten on the road and their 10 men lose 3-1, when the Clamper brings a dirty game to an end. The one bright point is that Mickey picks up the Man of the Match award for his midfield display. Lets hope that our home form improves in our next game

Heart Break for Brave BU's

BraveHearts 3-0 BUFC
After the euphoria of our impressive goal-scoring tally against the Biskuit Boys in our previous game, sadly the normally reliable Bimbo was firing blanks today when we visited last seasons champions, the Braves.Things didnt start well when on 16 minutes the BraveHearts striker, Jedd slipped the ball past Gunny to open the scoring. It was pretty much one way action for most of the game, but the Boston skipper, AJ led the way in defence with a string of well timed tackles to keep the Braves at bay.Unfortunately, as half-time approached Patrick88 broke from midfield and launched a speculative lob forward and Jedd was in the right place at the right time, to head home his 2nd of the match.
The BUFC defence battled on valiantly throughout the second half, but in an almost replica move, Patrick88 once again smacked a long lob upfield on 56 minutes and the fortunate Jedd once again headed home to get his hat-trick.The Boston team looked stunned and seemed to have little left in their tanks to fight back  and so it was the game petered out and BUFC trudged off the pitch hoping for better fortunes next time.Patrick88 was named the Official Man of the Match  but Bostons skipper, AJ made a total of six clean tackles and despite being on the losing team today, was Man of the Match for me!

Has AJ Been Cloned

Eagle eyed Boston fans have noticed that lowly German side FV Sulzbachhave made a large song and dance about their new Scottish defender AJ.
Boston's AJ

FV Sulzbachhave's AJ
AJ was missing from training today and left very quickly after this afternoon game. A search of his locker found (apart from some old kit) a German phrase book, Euros and a number of First Class flight tickets.
Has he got a new holiday home in Germany, has he jumped ship and decided to ply his trade on the Continent, does he have a doppelganger or does he just love football that much that the two games that Boston play a day aren’t enough for him.
You will be the first to know once we catch up with him or he answers our texts and calls.

Boston bounce back to leave Crash a pile of Crumbs

Crash 4-7 BUFC

Following a rather disappointing start to the new season, Boston travelled to the home of the mighty CrashBiskuit today. Possibly still worried about their lack of goals, despite numerous goal-scoring chances in their last game against Sadistic Legacy, the BUFC side made a slightly nervous start to this game, when a neat Boston passing move sends Phoenix through on goal early on, but he didnt really trouble the Biskuit keeper. From that moment on however, no further chances went begging for either side in a high scoring game! It was a more positive Boston Utd that opened the scoring on 19 minutes, when Phoenix played a simple pass into the box for Bimbo to calmly finish past the advancing Pizza in goal. The Biskuit struck back straight from Pizzas clearance and on 23 minutes, Hubbsy knocked in a lucky strike low past Gunnys left side to make it 1-1.
Again Gunny goes long with her clearance, which it is neatly controlled by Phoenix and he slips a well-placed pass for Bimbo to smash in his second on 29 minutes. Like two boxers slugging it out, Crash strike straight back, with a route one ball to Pab, who lobs a high cross to Juggernaut to head home the equaliser. Frustrated at being beaten again, Gunny really puts her foot through the ball and smacks one straight upfield to Bimbo, and as the half-time whistle approaches he coolly scores his third to give Boston Utd the lead, 3-2 at the interval. The second half picks up where it left off and winning the ball in midfield, NumbNutz splits the Biskuit defence with a superb pass to Phoenix who finishes neatly on 59 minutes. BUFC go into an even more comfortable lead when Mickey picks up the loose ball and threads a pass to Phoenix, who sets up Bimbo for his fourth of the game on 68 minutes and gives Boston a 5-2 lead.
Still throwing punches, Pab pulls one back with a long shot over Gunny in the 73rd minute, before Phoenix once again sets Bimbo up for his fifth on 78 mins to restore Bostons three goal lead. A final route one effort cuts out the BUFC defence and Juggernants solo effort gives the Biskuit another goal. Now Gunnys getting really mad and in the closing seconds smashes yet another long ball up over midfield directly to Bimbo, who turns provider to set up Phoenix crash in a final goal in the 90th minute and the tired but jubilant Boston Utd run out 7-4 winners!!! It wasnt attractive football in some respects, but the travelling fans certainly got their money's worth today and saw Boston get their first three points on the board, as the made the mighty Biskuit crumble.Man of the Match - Despite Bimbo scoring five, the award goes to Phoenix for his tackling display, four superb assists and his two neatly finished goals.

Bston lose close match BUFC 1 -2 Sadistic Legacy

The opening game of the season saw the newly promoted Sad Leg come to the home of The Bulls. The team were really positive following their pre-season jaunt to the Faroe Islands and were quickly in attack. NumbNutz streaking through the opposition defense, only to limply chip the ball into the Sad Leg keepers hands. From the clearance the Sadistic Legacy striker, Steven One Don, latches on to a piercing through ball and coolly slips the ball past Gunny in the Boston goal before she has time to react. In response Boston create more clear chances, with Bimbo sliding passes through to his strike partner Phoenix, only to see the Legacy keeper pull off two stunning saves. The remainder of the first half sees a tense midfield battle and we go in 1-nil down at half-time.The second half starts badly when our normally solid captain, AJ is caught off-guard and slices a clearance straight to Steven One Don, who makes a precision cross on to the head of the advancing Legacy striker, AVFCRoss. His header fools Gunny who is still finishing eating her half-time orange and we go 2-nil down. Then Boston break away again and as Bimbo closes down to score a certain goal, he is viciously brought down in the area by the Legacy keeper, RyanBJK. Despite the ref being as blind as a bat, he cant miss this one and promptly books the offending keeper. A bit dazed and confused, Bimbo picks himself up off the ground and unfortunately blasted the penalty over the bar to miss a golden opportunity! With the game slipping from our grasp, Phoenix splits the Legacy defence with a beautifully weighted pass and Bimbo runs on to it to smash the ball home past the static Legacy keeper. Sadly, its all too late and this is the last action of the match as Boston run out 1-2 losers. In all we had a total of seven chances on goal and only managed to convert one, where the visitors today only had two chances, but clinically converted both of them. Hopefully we can improve on our finishing in future matches. Cmon Boston..!!!
