Season 6 Update Games 1 to 4

Boston Utd have been busy in the transfer market in preparation for the new season and have managed to find replacements for our two missing midfielders. As you will have seen reported earlier on the blog, Gennaro has returned to Italy, to run the familys pizza chain and Duly has taken early retirement to end his playing career, but is still seen around the club, helping out the ground staff on match days.So we made not two, but three new signings  youve seen the press release and photos in the previous entry. Weve really gone into the international market, with Aliki, our new defender from Greece; Ulpetr, a midfielder from the Czech Republic and Matze, our other new midfielder from Germany. A warm welcome to them all and Im sure they will help Boston Utd push on in the new season ahead of us. Game 1: BUFC 5-0 Allstars
We kicked off the season at home, against our old (S&F) chums the Allstars. The home fans eagerly anticipated seeing how the new side would shape up and a goal from last seasons top goal-scorer Bimbo and one from Phoenix gave us a 2-nil lead at half-time. Last season we managed only 4 clean sheets, but the second half gave our first of the new campaign  along with a further three goals from Phoenix, who was on-fire in front of goal! Mickey managed to pick up a yellow card, but also received the Man of the Match award!
Game 2: BUFC 1-1 WonderBoys
Still on a high from the opening day of the season, BUFC fans were left wondering how we only managed to come away with a draw from todays game against the WonderBoys! In a close game, with both sides battling to control midfield, so unsurprisingly we went in a half-time at nils apiece. The second half saw Bimbo grab one for Boston, but unfortunately we were pegged back meaning we only take a single point from the game. Once again Mickey managed to collect both a yellow and the MoM award!
Game 3: WidowMakers 5-9 BUFC
Our first away game of the season saw us travel to the Widows and it turned out to be a trilling affair! The first half was end-to-end stuff with chances for both sides. It was often route one football with long distance clearances from Gunny picking out the front men  she provided three assists in the game like this and Boston led at half-time 5-2!The second half followed a similar pattern, but it was BUFC who ran out eventual winners by 9 goals to the Widows 5. Man of the Match, Bimbo scored six, with Phoenix getting the other three for Boston.
Game 4: London 0-2 BUFC
Boston havent always had it easy in the capital, but with our new internationals in the side our latest trip to play London seemed less daunting. The first half saw the in-form Phoenix net two to give us a comfortable 2-nil cushion at halftime. The second half saw us begin to tire somewhat and although we had chances, we couldnt extend our lead. Gunny and our defence though managed another clean sheet to help the side to victory. BUFCs stunning start to the season sees us undefeated in four and 10 points from three wins and a draw means that for the first time in the clubs history, we are top of the table in P1!

Boston top the tabble
